What about the Banian & Sarong or the Ariya Sinhala? Either of these would have been more suitabloe in the exisiting climate and would also go well with Nationalistic fervour.

Give them uniforms by all means. But do we need a ceremony and politician to start it? So this is all they do, find something to celebrate all the time and be in the picture.

with this uniform they will be baked in this hot weather, bet the drivers will appreciate if the engine compartment is air conditioned.

Well done, it is a nice uniform for our Locomotive Pilots.
Their designation must be changed to "LOCOMOTIVE PILOT" inline with international standards.

The engine driver looks like a army commander....If his cabin is air conditioned he would be comfortable with this uniform. To wear this kind of uniform in non air condition cabin is a nightmare.
