I think his security detail is overdone and not realistic...typical Sri Lankan mentality. He only requires handcuffs and just two strong policemen armed with pistols.

The security is not to stop him escape, but to stop others who would like to silence him. Anyway, in the first picture all STF officers and the policeman are looking down (while descending on the steps). At least one of them should be looking ahead. This is where the MSD is better than commandos in protecting VIPs.
