Maliyadeva, DSS record convincing wins


Maliyadeva College Kurunegala and D.S. Senanayake College Colombo recorded convincing wins in low scoring matches of the Under 19 interschools limited over tournament encounters played at Kotahena and DSS ground Wijerama Mawatha.

Maliyadeva coasted to a 117 run win over St. Benedict’s with the Devans helped by a half ton by Dimantha Nissanka making 146 but they struck back to bundle out the Bens for a paltry 29 runs while DSS overcame Prince of Wales by 61 runs.

In the other matches that were played saw Moratu MV along with Sri Sumangala Panadura, Royal Panadura, Sri Devananda MV Ambalangoda and President’s Maharagama winning their matches. (M. Shamil Amit)
