Feb. 24 (Daily Mirror) - St. Benedict’s College, after being restricted for 150 runs, hit back strongly as left-arm spinner Mevan Dissanayake bagged five scalps to put them back in the game in their fourth annual cricket encounter for the James Cartman Memorial Trophy played at the P. Sara Oval in Colombo.

The Bens, taking first lease of the wicket lost two early wickets before Skipper Sharujan Shanmuganathan and Steve Arshan made a top score of 42 and rescued them with the pair putting on a valuable 57-run stand for the fourth wicket.

This was followed by another good partnership between Arshan and Janindu Nandasena.

But they collapsed after the fall of the fifth wicket as they lost the remaining five wickets for the addition of 40 runs and were bowled out for 150 runs.

Wesley in their turn lost three quick wickets with the score on 26 and they never recovered as they lost wickets at regular intervals and ended the day on 122 for eight with spinner Dissanayake doing the damage. (Pix by: Pradeep Dilrukshana)
