In an unfortunate turn of events, Shadab Khan suffered a serious injury on Friday (October 27) during Pakistan’s World Cup clash against South Africa at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. The Men in Green vice-captain severely hurt his head and shoulder while attempting to run out, and soon after, he had to walk off the field.
It all happened when Shadab Khan threw the ball towards the non-strikers’ end to run out Temba Bavuma on the second ball of South Africa’s innings. While doing that, Shadab was off balance, and when he landed, he hurt his shoulder as well as his head.
The Pakistani all-rounder was down in pain for quite a few minutes until a stretcher came out to highlight the seriousness of the injury. However, Shadab did not need to leave the field on the stretcher, and he began to walk back to the pavilion for treatment.
Meanwhile, Agha Salman came on the field as Shadab’s replacement. (OneCricket)
