Immigration officers at the Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake apprehended Sanjeewa Kumara alias 'Ganemulla Sanjeeva', a notorious leader of an organized crime gang, this evening.

Sanjeeva was apprehended upon his arrival at the Katunayake Airport via SriLankan Airlines flight UL-182 from Kathmandu, Nepal, at 5:46 p.m.

Using a forged passport to enter the country, Sanjeeva's presence raised suspicion among immigration officials, leading to his subsequent arrest. Currently, immigration authorities are in the process of recording statements from him
