The Tiles and Sanitaryware Importers’ Association of Sri Lanka, at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) recently, re-elected D. Vigneshwaran for a second term as President

The AGM, attended by the key stakeholders, industry leaders and association members, was a blend of formal proceedings and strategic discussions.

Vigneshwaran’s leadership over the past term has been instrumental in navigating the association through a challenging economic landscape, marked by fluctuating market conditions and global supply chain disruptions. His re-election signifies trust in his capabilities to further steer the industry towards growth and stability.
The AGM began with a comprehensive review of the association’s activities over the past year. Key achievements included successful lobbying for favourable import policies, organising industry trade shows and enhancing member services. 

Members engaged in strategic discussions about the future direction of the association. Topics covered included enhancing industry standards, improving supply chain efficiency and adopting sustainable practices. The importance of digital transformation and innovation in the tiles and sanitaryware sector was also emphasised, with plans to integrate advanced technologies to stay competitive.

The AGM outlined several future initiatives aimed at strengthening the industry. These include expanding training programmes for members, initiating collaborative projects with international partners and launching marketing campaigns to boost domestic demand. The association also plans to advocate for policy reforms that benefit the industry and contribute to national economic growth.

The event also featured a segment dedicated to recognising outstanding contributions from the departing President A.M.J.M. Jawfer and his board members in the recent past.
