Twenty-five Heated Humidified Oxygen Therapy Units (HHOT) manufactured by the Sri Lanka Air Force in the first batch have been handed over to the General Hospitals and SLAF hospitals as of now.
The HHOT Units manufactured by the General Engineering Wing at Katunayake together with the electronical design which was done by the Electronics and Telecommunications Wing at Ratmalana.
Accordingly, 15 units were handed over to the General Hospitals in Peradeniya ,Theldeniya, Karapitiya, Kalutara, Gampaha, Kalubowila, Ragama, Anuradhapura, Avisawella, Ranaviri Upahara Base Hospital, Galgamuwa and National Institute of Infectious Diseases in Angoda.
Another 10 HHOT units were handed over to the Air Force Hospitals in Katunayake, Ratmalana, Guwanpuara and Air Force Academy in China Bay. Among them, United Trade Association in Gampaha donated one HHOT unit while Mr. Gayan Pothuhera, the Director of Path Nirwana Foundation in California donated five HHOT units, Mr. Athula Eliyapura, the Chairman of the Raja Jewellers Pvt Ltd donated two HHOT units and Mr. Rajith Thennekone, the President of the Seth Sadhana Meth Maga Samajasathkara in Nugegoda donated one HHOT to the general hospitals.
The other HHOT units were donated by the SLAF. Also, a special financial donation made by Mr. Nadun Wijesekara, Mr. Surin Gunawardene (Australia), Mr. Gohan Liyanage (Australia), M/s Metropolitan Office Pvt Ltd. Providing Oxygen sensors for this project was done by Mrs. Ayusha Amarakoon, Sri Lanka Association Midwest, Group Coordinator, Medical Equipment and Compact Oxygen Machines to SL from US-SL Community For the second batch of Qty 25 machines – All electronics component will be donated (worth approximately 2 million) and sent by Mrs. Ayusha Amarakoon, Sri Lanka Association Midwest, Group Coordinator, Medical Equipment and Compact Oxygen Machines to SL from US-SL Community.
