270 vaccination centres countrywide - Army



About 270 Community Vaccination Centres manned by tri-forces and health authorities are currently operational countrywide as of today, Army Commander General Shavendra Silva said. 

 

  Accordingly, vaccination centres are operational in 33 locations in the Colombo district, 36 in the Gampaha district, 27 in the Kalutara district, 26 in Kurunegala district, 17 locations in the Anuradhapura district, 16 each in Hambantota and Matale districts, 12 in the Badulla district, 11 in the Galle the district, nine in the Matara district, 10 each in Batticaloa and Kegalle districts, six locations in the Puttalam district, four each in the Ampara and Kandy districts, seven in the Nuwara Eliya district, three locations in Jaffna district and one location in the Trincomalee district.   He said AstraZeneca Covishield, Pfizer, Sinopharm and Sputnik V vaccines have been administered under the National Vaccination Programme. The Army is administering the vaccines to those in the field of education and higher education, including teachers, expatriate workers, students going abroad for higher education, garment factory workers, National Transport Board employees and other priority institutions and parties.
