General Manager Railways Dhammika Jayasundara said 64 trains would be in operation with a restricted number of passengers if the travel restrictions were lifted on October 21.   

He said several long distance trains between Colombo and Beliaththa, Colombo and Kandy and Colombo and Maho would be operated.in addition to the short distance trips. 

 
He said trains from Kandy would operate with limited halts up to Rambukkana and run express beyond that up to Dematagoda to prevent the boarding of excessive passengers as instructed by the health authorities.
