A batch of 325 Grade III Principals appointed to schools in the North Central Province received their letters of appointment at the Provincial Council Auditorium.
NCP Governor Maheepala Herath was the chief guest at the ceremony.
Addressing the ceremony, he said the North Central Province was facing a dearth of education officers of higher grades and that it affected the standard of education in the province. He pointed out that there was a shortage of 147 Education Administrative Service Officers.
Former Chief Minister Ranjith Samarakoon, Chairman of the Provincial Council T.M.R.Siripala, Chief Secretary Chandrasiri Bandara, Secretary to the Ministry of Education Lacshmee Hewapathirana and Director of Educaton, NCP S.M.W. Samarakoon were present at the occasion.
