Agbo the wild elephant will need more than three months to recover : Director Wildlife Health Surgeons

Wildlife Veterinary Surgeons said the injured wild elephant popularly known as Agbo in Thirappane now under treatment will take more than three months for complete recovery.  
The jumbo had received gunshot injuries in a fore limb when a trap gun laid by poachers misfired. Yesterday the veterinary surgeons attending further treatment performed Scan tests and X-Ray yesterday after tranquilizing it.


Director, Wildlife Health of the Wildlife Conservation Department Dr. Tharaka Prasad and Anuradhapura Zone Wildlife Surgeon Dr. Chandana Jayasinghe are providing treatment to Agbo.
