Agreements signed with India will endanger sovereignty of Sri Lanka: AKD

President Ranil Wickremesinghe during his recent visit to India had entered into five agreements calling to connect the two countries through land, sea and air which would affect the sovereignty of Sri Lanka, NPP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said over the weekend.  


He said the President had signed an agreement to construct a transmission line connecting the two countries with the aim of carrying power from one country to the other and vice versa.  
The MP said agreements had been signed to construct a fuel and gas pipeline between the two countries and also to use Indian rupee in commercial transactions.  


Dissanayake said the other agreement had been signed to connect the two countries through land, sea and air. He said an agreement had also been signed to promote cultural relationships between the two countries.
