Agriculture Ministry Secretary Rohana Pushpakumara has tendered his resignation from his post citing personal reasons, Daily Mirror learns.   However, his resignation comes in the wake of the government taking radical decision to introduce organic farming by banning chemical farming.    

Asked about the resignation, Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage said the Dean of the Agriculture Faculty of Wayamba University would be appointed as the new secretary to his ministry to implement the decision to switch to organic farming.
