•  Mahasangha was hopeful that the politicians would lay the foundation to uplift the country on the basis of the constitution

Chief Secretary of Asgiriya Chapter Ven. Medagama Dhammananda Thera stressed that all politicians in the country should act with a sense of responsibility in the interest of the country at this crucial juncture.   

The Thera told the media yesterday that the Mahasangha had reiterated the need to prevent the prevailing political instability and the calamitous situation, but the rulers ignored it.   

He pointed out that under the circumstance it was incumbent on all politicians to forget their political differences to establish law and order and to work out an effective plan to save the country from the prevailing economic crisis. He further said that the Mahasangha was hopeful that the politicians would lay the foundation to uplift the country on the basis of the constitution..
