A freighter carrying 3,900 metric tons of gas sailed into the Colombo Port yesterday and the unloading process is to begin soon, Litro Gas Lanka Limited Chairman Theshara Jayasinghe said.

He said the unloading of the gas commenced around 7pm on Saturday (9).  “The gas cylinder refilling process is currently underway with more than 100,000 gas cylinders being released to the market per day,” he said.
The Chairman announced that no price increase of gas cylinders had taken place. Therefore, the chairman had instructed consumers to lodge complaints with the police regarding traders selling gas cylinders at higher prices.  He said that complaints could also be made to Litro at 1311.
