  • Vows to take the remainder of the struggle under their political leadership

The Aragalaya (struggle) has achieved only a partial victory as its slogan was not complete, National People’s Power (NPP) leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said yesterday. They vowed to take the remainder of the struggle under their political leadership.

Anura Kumara Dissanayake said the struggle did not carry a vision or plan as to what should be done after sending the then President Gotabaya Rajapaksa home.

Speaking at a seminar in Maharagama, he said the slogan should have been wholesome to achieve the complete victory.

“There was a slogan in the struggle demanding action against fraud,  corruption and to recover the plundered national wealth. However, the slogan “Gota go home’ was prioritised,” he said.

The JVP leader said they cannot expect action against fraud and corruption under any government as the fraudsters would never take action against other fraudsters and added that only NPP can achieve that.
