The army has been distributing vegetables for the convenience of the low income families in Mullaitivu who are subject to travel restrictions. 

Brigade Commander of the Mullaitivu Security Forces Headquarters Maj. Gen. Upali Rajapakse said this step was taken in view of the hardships faced by the low income families due to the breakdown of their household economy. The programme has been implemented under the supervision of Commander of the 64 Brigade Maj. Gen. Manjula Karunaratne.
