Expressing condolences over the death of the 9-year old girl from Atulugama, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa pledged to expedite swift action and justice to the girl’s family.  

The body of the 9-year old girl who was reported missing from Atulugama, Bandaragama was recovered in a marshy land near her home yesterday.  

“My heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to the family of little Fathima Ayesha who was senselessly killed. I pledge to expedite swift action and justice to her family for this vicious crime,” the President tweeted.  
Meanwhile, the investigation into the murder was handed over to the CID.
