Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa is likely to lose his portfolio in the event of the formation of an interim administration with a new Cabinet, Daily Mirror learns.  

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is reportedly planning for the dissolution of the current Cabinet to form an interim government, as requested by the 11 party alliance and the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP).

In the reappointment of the fresh Cabinet of Ministers of the interim government, Mr. Basil Rajapaksa is unlikely to be appointed finance minister.
