Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa will present a revolutionary, unexpected budget in November as his maiden budget, which would be similar to one created with  Alladin's magic lamp, Minister S.M. Chandrasena said yesterday.

He told a news conference that Minister Basil Rajapaksa was having discussions with all Ministries, Parliamentarians and civil groups in that regard.

"Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa will present his maiden budget in November. We are aware that he will present a revolutionary, and an unexpected budget which will be felt by the whole country as we had never expected," he said.

He said Basil Rajapaksa had already taken constructive measures by cutting down on expenses of Ministries and that he was running the Finance Ministry with good management skills.

"Basil took over the Finance Ministry when the country was facing an economic crisis amidst a pandemic," he said.
