• Bank could not make payment because of a court order

Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal said the row over the blacklisting of People’s Bank by   the Chinese embassy could be sorted out.

Mr. Cabraal told Daily Mirror the People’s Bank could not make payment to the Chinese company because of a court order.

He said the matter would be sorted out soon.

“The People’s Bank could not make the payment because of this court order only. Otherwise, the bank would have paid it. It will be resolved soon,” he said.
