• One body recovered, search continues for the other

A group of young men enjoying a boat ride in the sea off Mannar last morning had fallen into the sea and two of them had disappeared.  

However, the body of one of the disappeared had been recovered by the Navy divers yesterday afternoon.  
Investigations revealed that the group of young men from Jaffna were enjoying a boat ride in the Konthaipiddki lagoon area when they met with the accident.  

 Residents of the area who rushed to the scene had brought the boat and the other young man ashore.  
Mannar Police and the Navy were searching for the other who had disappeared.
