  • Politicians, media heads among the compliant

By Sheain Fernandopulle

The Commission to Investigate Allegations on Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) is set to acquire asset declarations from politicians, including the President, the Prime Minister, public servants within staff ranks totalling around 150,000 individuals, and media heads. Accordingly, individuals from thirty-one sectors are now under obligation to submit their assets and liability statements annually to the CIABOC, with the deadline set for March 31 of each year. This comes into effect in the wake of the recently enacted Bribery or Corruption Allegations Act.
