The body of a businessman from Hanwella was recovered yesterday from an unprotected well in a fish farm belonging to him.   

The victim Angodage Don Donald Maxim (56) had been running the fish farm since long  

His wife who was away from home for employment had attempted to contact him over the phone and when she did not receive any response she had informed a neighbour to look for him.  
The neighbour who searched for him had noticed a pair slippers floating in the well and the businessman’s motorcycle parked near the well. 

 
Police rushed to the scene initiated investigations and emptied the well to find the businessman’s body at the bottom.   

A senior police official said the circumstances that led to the death was yet to be established. Hanwella police are conducting further investigations.
