Model Chula Padmendra who was involved in a controversial incident at the recent Mrs.Sri Lanka pageant said that the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) had recorded a statement from her on Saturday regarding a detained journalist.   

She said that she was summoned to the CID to question how she knows Keerthi Ratnayake, a journalist who is currently in custody.   

Keerthi Ratnayake, a defence and political analyst at Lanka e-News was arrested for allegedly giving information to the Indian Embassy in Colombo concerning a possible terrorist attack. 

 
Speaking to the media after recording a statement at the CID, she said that she came and gave a statement to the CID over a phone call, which she had with the journalist Keerthi Ratnayake.   

“I was contacted by many journalists including foreign journalists during the aftermath of the Mrs.Sri Lanka pageant. I have not even met the journalist Keerthi Ratnayake and it is unfair to question me over a phone call I had with him,” she said.
