The spread of COVID-19 virus is not over as yet, so people should keep an eye on the upcoming festive season, the Government Medical Officers’ Association said yesterday.  Addressing the media, GMOA General Committee Member, Dr. Prasad Kolambage said a unique COVID-19 variant was spreading across the world.
“That special variant was found in our country. We are receiving information about various mutations in the special COVID variants with different symptoms,” he said.

There is a possibility of people gathering during the upcoming festive season. Therefore, people’s attention should be drawn to the gravity of the current situation.    The health authorities and other related state organisations should be vigilant of another possible wave, Dr. Kolabage added.
