The Department of Civil Security (CSD) is facing a significant challenge in recovering arrears from public and private institutions for services provided up to December 31, 2022, according to the annual Audit Report 2022.

Despite repeated efforts, the department has been unable to collect Rs. 334 million in outstanding payments as of March 24, 2023.

The Department of Civil Security is responsible for providing security and other services to a wide range of public and private institutions, including government ministries, banks and hospitals.

The failure to collect the arrears has strained the finances of the Department of Civil Security.

The department relies on these payments to cover its operational costs, including salaries for its employees and maintenance of its equipment. It was reported that the outstanding arrears have made it difficult for the department to meet its financial obligations.
