Carcass of a hill country tiger recovered near Wimalasurendra hydropower complex



  • It was a male about eight years of age 
  • A part of its hide had been cut off and taken away

 The carcass of a well grown hill country tiger was recovered yesterday afternoon, from  the access road to the Wimalasurendra hydropower complex, by wildlife conservators.  


Wildlife Range Conservator in Nallathanniya Prabhash Karunatilleke said it was a male about eight years of age and that it had been killed and a part of its hide cut off and taken away.  


He said he would make a report in this regard to the Hatton Magistrate and refer the carcass to the Randenigala Veterinary Hospital.
