Change in fuel revision date, no shortage of 95-Octane petrol: CPSTL

• A fuel shortage occurred due to fuel stations not maintaining sufficient stocks

The Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL) assured yesterday that there is no shortage of 95-Octane petrol in the country.

An official of the CPSTL said 570 metric tons of 95-Octane petrol had been purchased recently.

A fuel shortage occurred due to fuel stations not maintaining sufficient stocks at fuel stations in the country.

Meanwhile, Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said he will take necessary action against the fuel refilling stations for not maintaining sufficient fuel stocks and for not placing their orders on time.

However, there is no shortage of 95-Octane petrol in the country.

Meanwhile, the Ministry said they are in the process of revising the date of the monthly fuel price revision.

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) had earned a profit of Rs. 41 billion since January this year.
