Chinese ambassador assures support during meeting with Mahanayake Theras

Chinese ambassador in Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong expressed solidarity of the Chinese government to overcome the temporary economic crisis facing Sri Lanka.


During a meeting with Mahanayakes of Malwatta and Asgiriya Chapters on Saturday(27) he said although the prevailing economic crisis would not end overnight, Sri Lanka was in a position to face that challenge and get rid of it.

 “Chinese Buddhist Society has planned to help the Buddhist temples and the monks in addition to the economic cooperation to the country.  Friendship between the two countries has not been affected by the recent changes in Sri Lanka. China expects to uphold the bilateral relations between the two countries” He further said. Principal of Chandananda Buddhist School in Kandy Ven. Godagama Dhammakitthi Thera was present at the occasion.
