Chinese woman deported



  • Officials checked her handbag had found her genuine passport. Further investigations revealed that she had been prohibited from leaving China

 A Chinese woman prohibited from leaving China was arrested by Immigration and Emigration officials when she arrived at the Katunayake International Airport on Thursday night (26).   


 Officials of the Border Surveillance Unit examined her passport to find that she had a passport declared by the International Police as lost or stolen.   


 Investigations revealed that the rightful owner of the passport was another Chinese woman who had lost it during her visit to Sri Lanka in 2017 and that she had obtained a new passport from Sri Lanka and left.

 She was deported and handed over to the airline which had flown her to Sri Lanka.
