State Minister of Defence Premitha Bandara Tennakoon has directed the Director General of the Civil Security Department Air Vice Marshal Roshan Biyanwila to conduct a thorough inquiry and submit a comprehensive report regarding the involvement of Civil Security Department personnel in activities unrelated to their designated roles, which include maintenance duties at places of worship, agricultural tasks, upkeep of elephant fences, and various other institutional responsibilities.
Furthermore, the minister has instructed a review and update of the relevant orders governing the attachment of CSD personnel to such institutions.
The State Minister has also instructed to immediately terminate the service of CSD personnel found violating official instructions.
