Minister of Tourism Prasanna Ranatunga has taken steps to resume domestic flights between Colombo and Jaffna by next month.

The domestic flights operating from Ratmalana airport had been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  A senior official of the ministry said the flights would resume subject to the health guidelines.

He said two flights a week were in operation prior to the closure of the country in March last year, and that the minister has instructed the airport authorities and the Civil Aviation Company to look into the feasibility of operating daily flights.
