Colombo sees 500 Dengue breeding places

Legal action has been taken against 500 premises in Colombo which have been found to be dengue breeding grounds since May this year, Acting Chief Medical Officer Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) Dr. K. Siripathan said yesterday.

 “We have taken a number of measures to prevent the spread of the disease in the city such as daily spraying, inspection of premises, and also conducting awareness programmes, Dr. Siripathan told Daily Mirror.


The Number of reported dengue cases in Colombo has dropped this week compared to last week, Accordingly there have been 20 cases reported this week compared to 60 last week.
