A committee consisting of senior MPs in Parliament would be appointed within this week to investigate the incidents that took place in Parliament last Friday and Saturday, Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana announced yesterday.

He said senior MPs from both Government and the Opposition would be appointed to represent the Committee.
The Speaker said he was expecting a comprehensive report on the incidents and requested all MPs to cooperate in the matter.
