The SJB has decided to call for explanation from its Badulla District MP Chaminda Wijesiri who was critical of party leader Sajith Premadasa, Party General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara said .   

The MP will be called for a meeting with the party leadership shortly.  

“There is a system in our party where the party leadership resolves whatever issues which the party members might have. We will call Wijesiri for a meeting,” Madduma Bandara told journalists yesterday.  
 “Ours is a democratic party therefore any one is allowed to express himself or herself . We have a practice of listening to ideas of our party members,” he said.  

Wijesiri when contacted by Daily Mirror said he is not in a position to talk to any one as he was engaged in personal matters.  

The MP who was critical of the Leader of Opposition said the latter should develop a program to develop the nation which is acceptable to the people rather than criticising the government. Mr. Premadasa in turn publicly stated that even a Montessori child can understand the strategies adopted by his party to win the support of the people. He stated that only constructive criticism will be welcomed while meaningless criticism will be ignored.
