There was a delay in unloading the super diesel cargo on Wednesday (24) due to bank clearances, but the discharging commenced last evening, Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said yesterday.   

He also said an auto diesel cargo that arrived last night will commence unloading today.   

The fuel distribution process at the Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL) will continue during the night today to make up for the delays, he said.   

Moreover, he said the petrol is distributed in combinations to most fuel stations with the diesel stocks.   

The delay in unloading diesel occurred as a result of delays in the distribution of petrol.   

However, the CPSTL will work overnight to cover up the delays, he said.
