Saying that democracy always won over mass revolution and blood baths in the world, it is appalling to note that a leader who is so much familiar with these revolutions will order an attack on the GotaGoGama struggle, the GGG protestors yesterday said.  Addressing a special press briefing held at the Tear Gas Cinema Theatre in the GotaGoGama Village, the protestors said they were planning to officially handover the Presidential Secretariat building to the authorities yesterday afternoon, when this attack came at dawn.

“Knowing that we were going to return the symbolic protest site and launching an attack on top of it could only be defined as nothing but an inhumane act. We will definitely strike back,” protestor Senandhi Guruge said.
“What happened on Friday early morning was a human rights violation that should gain the international level exposure as the armed forces opened an attack on unarmed peaceful protesters,” Attorney Manoj Nanayakkara said.

“My fellow attorney was assaulted by an airman near the Temple Trees early yesterday morning,” he said.
