Tangalle Magistrate Hemantha Pushpakumara yesterday ordered Director of Tangalle Terrorist Investigation Central Camp IP Anura Shantha to report to Colombo Magistrate’s Court No.08 on Convenor of Inter-University Bhikkhu Federation Ven. Galwewa Siridhamma Thera and Convenor of Inter-University Student Federation Wasantha Mudalige who have been detained under the Prevention of Terrorism Act.

The Director Tangalle TID Central Camp yesterday appeared before the magistrate on a court order made on Wednesday (26) to report on the two suspects.

President’s Counsel Upali Mohotti appearing for Ven. Siridhamma Thera and Wasantha Mudalige told court that the two suspects were being detained for 90 days and that they had already been under detention for 70 days without any charge. He submitted that the two suspects were being arbitrarily detained and that the TID had failed to report to court on them.
