Business tycoon Dhammika Perera is to be sworn in today as an MP  before Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana, Parliament sources said  yesterday.

He is expected to be sworn in as the Supreme Court dismissed the petitions filed challenging his appointment as an MP.   

He will be coming in as a national list MP in place of  former Minister of Finance Basil Rajapaksa, who resigned from Parliament  recently.  

Mr, Perera is also expected to be given the ministerial portfolio of Investment Promotion.
