State Minister Diana Gamage accused the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) of forging her resignation in an attempt to remove her from the party’s Deputy Secretary post.
Gamage said a forged document had been submitted to the Colombo District Court indicating her resignation by the SJB. “This forged document indicating my resignation has been submitted to the District Court.
I don’t know what games these people are playing with the judiciary by forging documents,” Gamage said.
The State Minister said she has never drafted a letter of this nature. “I have not resigned from my post of Deputy Secretary. If that was the case, I should first be removed from the Executive Committee,” she said.
Gamage said her name would still be listed as the Deputy Secretary of the SJB if anyone were to verify party details with the Elections Commissioner.
The State Minister said that the forged document has been signed by two attorneys as well, adding that she has no intention of resigning from the post. A complaint has been lodged with the Police regarding this act of forgery, she added.
“Ranjith Madduma Bandara, it is a shame to call you the General Secretary of this party. I’m sad about all of you. This group including Sajith Premadasa are ungrateful and deserve to be removed,” she said.
The State Minister detailed her intentions to take legal action against the act of forgery. “I will not be patient anymore. All I have to tell them is to be ready,” she added.
