The digital vaccination card introduced by the Health Ministry together with the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) for the benefit of the migrating Sri Lankans will be available in a few days, the Health Ministry said.
Health Promotion Bureau Director- Dr. Ranjith Batuwanthudawa told a news conference that those migrating to countries for study purposes or some other purpose will be able to obtain the digital vaccination card online after being fully vaccinated.
He said data with regard to the vaccination process were being updated to the vaccination tracker at the moment and added that the digital vaccination card could be obtained after the updating process.
Dr. Batuwanthudawa said the digital vaccination card could be printed online with a special QR code after producing the name and the Identity Card number of the person requesting for the card.
He said if the vaccination data of a particular person was not available in the vaccination tracker, he or she could visit their Medical Officer of Health (MOH) office and obtain their vaccination data fed into the tracker after verifying the vaccination data available at the MOH office.
Referring to the vaccination drive, he said the Health Ministry was planning to vaccinate between 200,000 and 300,000 people daily within three months.
