The body of businessman Dinesh Schaffter is to be exhumed on May 25 and Police will provide armed security to the burial site, Police Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said.   Earlier, the five-member expert committee, comprising of specialist doctors, appointed to prepare a report on the death of Schaffter requested in writing to the Colombo Magistrate’s Court that the body of deceased Mr. Schaffter needs to be exhumed to find the cause of his death.  

The spokesman said the Homicide and Organized Crime Investigation Division of the CID will carry out the necessary work to exhume the body.
Accordingly, the Borella Police has deployed special security at the burial site.  

SSP Thalduwa said the body will be exhumed with the participation of the magistrate and other experts as well as investigative officers.
