Government should summon the relevant heads of foreign missions in Sri Lanka and request them not to mess up the local banking sector, Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa said yesterday.
Speaking during the opening of SJB office in Wattala, Mr. Premadasa said those who run Sri Lanka should have the backbone to summon the relevant heads of foreign missions in Sri Lanka and should tell them not to mess up the country’s banking sector and that Sri Lanka does not intend to allow the consignment of fertilizer that had been imported from that particular country.
“It’s not a crime to take a step forward and reverse the decisions which have been already made. The government should have the backbone to defend Sri Lanka’s sovereignty. I know what I would have done if I was ruling the country,” he said.
Also, he called for the change in the composition of the task force which has been appointed to make recommendations on implementing the ‘One Nation One Law’ concept. “Government seemed to have adopted the strategy of politically surviving using communalism.
