A doctor attached to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital, who sustained serious injuries in his head in an assault by another doctor, has been admitted to a ward in the same hospital, the Police said.

The injured doctor was an official of the Government Medical Officers Association’s Anuradhapura branch of the hospital.

He told Police that a doctor who rushed to his office yesterday morning assaulted him causing injuries.
Hospital Director Dr Dulan Samaraweera said an altercation between the two doctors over an official matter had ended up in a clash.

He said the doctor who had been assaulted complained to the Police.
