The carcasses of nine Dolphins had been lashed ashore in the sea off Alampil in Mullaitivu on Thursday morning (09). Wildlife Officers said the carcasses were lying at several places within a distance of 2kms along the beach.

They said the Dolphins found dead were about 6ft long and five of them were males and others females.
Wildlife Veterinary Surgeon Dr. B. Giridharan who visited the scene and held the postmortem examination said that the cause of death was yet to be established.

However he said he found plastic pellets in their stomachs and that he referred specimens of the carcasses to the government analysts.
