• STF and local police to conduct surveillance mission

A special surveillance mission was executed in the Colombo City and its suburbs yesterday to monitor those who violate quarantine rules and regulations.  

Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said the police and intelligence services were alerted that the residents of Colombo City and suburbs violate quarantine rules and regulations. 

He said it was reported that they conduct meetings and other activities with a large number of people and to some extent, public gatherings too are said to be conducted in residential apartments. 

“STF and local police are to conduct a surveillance mission especially in the Colombo city and the suburbs with the help of modern technology such as drone cameras,” he said.  DIG Rohana said all residents are requested to stay indoors and obey quarantine rules and restrict movement.
