Prices of vegetables in the Dambulla Economic Centre had declined in a large proportion when compared to the previous days due to the heavy influx of vegetable stocks after the opening of the Economic Centre last morning,

Traders said the prices had declined by 40 per cent when compared to the previous prices particularly due to the poor turn up of traders from other areas. Meanwhile, farmers from Jaffna had brought large stocks of fruits including banana and grapes. The price of grapes was between Rs.200 and 300 depending on the quality. The traders from distant areas purchased large stocks of fruits from Jaffna.
