President Ranil Wickremesinghe has appointed members to both the Election Commission and the Human Rights Commission.  

Retired Supreme Court Judge, Justice L.T.B. Dehideniya was appointed as Chairman of the Human Rights Commission (HRC) and R.M.A.L. Rathnayake former Additional Commissioner General of Elections as the Chairman of the Election Commission (EC).
